Suraj completed his Bachelors in Sociology from RanchiUniversity and PGDPM from XISSin 1993 and has worked in various sectors during his 28 year career. He has been a part of Bata, Bosch, GM and Textron where he was the Deputy Managing Director for India and a member of the Board.
In 2011 Suraj joined Airbus India and under his leadership Airbus has been conferred with many awards and recognitions the most recent ones being: In 2020 National Best Employer Brand Award by CHRO Asia. Top 5 Most Innovative Practises in DivHERsity Policies, Top 20 Most Innovative PracisesDivHERsity Awards in 6 other categories and Dream Companies to work for by the World HRD Congress. In 2021 with Top 5 Most Innovative Practises in DivHERsity Policies, Top 20 Most Innovative PracisesDivHERsity Awards in 7 other categories and Dream Companies to work for by the WHRDC.

He is a life member of NHRD, ISTD and NIPM and is a regular speaker at all major Business Schools, Seminars and Conferences.
